Spending time with the residents seemed to be the most valued thing I could do while I was doing this. Many go without company and often feel very lonely. When I asked them about their childhood, they would become quite animated and fill me in on every detail.

This interaction was great. It's comforting to know that other people care about the little things in your life. Listening to their tales was like seeing into a time machine. Among our other activities, we would cook for them. Laundry is something we could help with. Spending time with loved ones was the most enjoyable and valued.
